U.S. Congress Bill to Ban Mercury Fillings

H.R.4 163: Representative Deane Watson (13-Ca) & Representative Dan Burton (R-In) [Introduced on 10 April 2002 (see http://Thomas.loc.gov)]

• Immediate ban on the use of mercury/silver amalgam fillings in children, pregnant women, and nursing mothers.
  
• Require health warnings to all patients receiving mercury fillings.
  
• Total ban on mercury fillings by 2007.
  

ELECTED OFFICATALS WILL RESPOND TO THE VOTERS!!!

Organized dentistry will fight this bill. You must voice your support. The bill will first go to the US. House of Representatives, then to the U.S. Senate if it passes the House.

• The "Government Offices-US." section of the blue pages of your telephone directory will provide information on your local U.S. Representative and Two U.S. Senators.
  
• Contact these offices to urge support of the Watson-Burton Bill H. R. 4163. Most effective are: 1) personal visits to the staff, 2) letters; 3) Emails; 4) telephone calls; 5) petitions.
  
• Emphasize the most important issues: PROTECT UNBORN BABIES AND CHILDREN!!!
  
• Emphasize that you will pay attention to their vote on this issue.
  
• Copy and distribute this notice to as many people as possible. Ask each person to provide this to 5 other people. Call local radio talk shows, TV stations, and newspapers.
